Floor lamps are freestanding and portable lamps designed to stand on the floor and position light in a specific location. Many floor lamps are tall and position the light higher in a room than a table lamp but lower than a ceiling light. However, lower-lever floor lamps are also available. Floor lamps are generally used for decorative, task, and ambient mood lighting. They are usually not the main light source in a room.
